A Changing World

The world continues to balance both peace and chaos. Fragile states continue to rise and democracies struggle with growing frustrations within their borders. Borders are being challenged as globalization seeks to erode their existence. Immigration is stressing nations as information flow becomes instanteous. A world that would love peace is far from it. Peace & Chaos will continue to battle each other.

FRAGILE STATES

Fragile states are defined as the broad range of failing, failed, and recovering states that are unable or unwilling to adequately assure the provision of security and basic services to significant portion of their populations and where the legitimacy of the governments is in question.1

RULE OF LAW

Rule of law is defined as the mechanism, process, institution, practice, or norm that supports the equality of all citizens before the law, secures a nonarbitrary form of government, and more generally prevents the arbitrary use of power. 2

CHAOS

Chaos is defined as a state of extreme confusion and disorder. In this world, chaos can be seen within both fragile and stable communities. Chaos is driven by mankind. One must understand chaos in order to seek compromise or peace.

TRANSREGIONAL

Modernization and technological advancements have led to the growth of globalization. Borders are being challenged in both the physical and digital realms. Nation-states are being challenged by external narratives that penetrate their communities. Issues that affect one nation now has the ability to cross over into another.
